Announcing Our New Funded Partners Advancing Pathways to Education
- News
At a time when students’ rights to equitable education are being challenged—from attacks on affirmative action to the current gutting of the Department of Education—our members are doubling down on their commitment to opening up postsecondary education and career access and success for boys and men of color.
That’s why California Funders for Boys and Men of Color (CFBMoC) has expanded its education grants in Sacramento and the Central Valley, two regions that don’t have the same access to funding as other major cities in the state. Thirteen funded partners will receive funding and institutional support to develop a 5-year blueprint to increase the number of boys and men of color pursuing and completing post-secondary degrees or career technical certificate programs by 2030. Through a total investment of $300,000, this region of California will have more resources to implement innovative, community-driven approaches to dismantling barriers to educational success.

We want to acknowledge that moments like these can bring up a wide range of emotions, both celebratory and challenging, as many organizations are doing critical work amidst compounding crises. While this round of funded partner selection was finalized prior to the 2024 elections, we recognize the urgency and breadth of need across the state—and we remain committed to exploring opportunities to expand this work in the future.
We stand firm in our belief that education is a right, not a privilege, and we will continue to support efforts that expand opportunities for boys and men of color across California. Stay connected with us on Instagram to learn more about our funded partners and their transformative work.
