Celebrating AAPI Heritage Month at CFBMoC
- News
In May, CFBMoC celebrated AAPI Heritage Month by celebrating and uplifting AAPI-led and serving organizations within our network that make a difference in their communities through advocacy, power building, and social and financial services.
Our member San Francisco Foundation’s API Affinity Group also prepared an incredible Give Guide that highlights the work of AAPI-led organizations that are working towards racial equity and economic inclusion.
Read more about the organizations we spotlighted and their impactful work below!
1. AAPI Equity Alliance is a coalition of community-based organizations that advocates for the rights and needs of the Asian American and Pacific Islander community in Los Angeles County and beyond through civic engagement, capacity building, and policy advocacy.
2. Asian Pacific Environmental Network (APEN) is an environmental justice organization with deep roots in California’s Asian immigrant and refugee communities. APEN brings together a collective voice to develop an alternative agenda for environmental, social, and economic justice.
3. Throughout Oakland and East Bay, East Bay Asian Local Development Corporation (EBALDC) develops and manages diverse, mixed-income complexes and communities. EBALDC also provides vital social and financial services to help give long-time, low-income residents the ability to stay in their neighborhoods.
4. Filipino Advocates for Justice advocates for immigrant and civil rights by providing direct services, developing leaders, and organizing and advocating on issues important to the Filipino community as a historically underserved ethnic minority.
5. New Breath Foundation provides grassroots organizations the sustainable resources they need to give new beginnings to Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians, and Pacific Islanders harmed by incarceration, deportation, and violence in the United States.
