Dodgers Hosts Black Heritage Night with 50/50 Raffle to Support CFBMoC
- News
As part of the Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation’s (LADF) Black Heritage Night and commitment to social justice, the Foundation hosted a 50/50 raffle to support the work of California Funders for Boys and Men of Color and The Ellen & Clayton Kershaw Foundation.
Black Heritage Night featured a host of other pregame activities and in-game programming to honor Black culture, including a National Anthem performance by saxophonist Mike Phillips, a yard show from Divine Nine sororities and fraternities, and a ceremonial first pitch from Jason Foster, president of Destination Crenshaw.
“Black Heritage Night at the Dodgers baseball game was a powerful celebration of our community and a significant boost to our efforts with the California Funders for Boys and Men of Color work in Los Angeles County,” said Julio Marcial, Chief Program Officer at Liberty Hill Foundation. “The support from this event is pivotal in advancing youth development work in Los Angeles County, helping us to create brighter futures for young men of color.”
We’re honored by the leadership of our CFBMoC member Liberty Hill Foundation and this partnership with the Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation, which has helped to raise over $600,000 to support our work.
